I was never particularly artsy growing up, in fact, I spent almost all my time playing or watching sports. Even now sports play a huge role in my life and sometimes determine my mood more than I like to admit. However, I’ve always appreciated art in all forms, from dancing to music, and film editing to painting. In fact, I’ve always wished I had more talent in some of these areas, but for some reason, in recent years I felt like I could excel in one, photography.

Photography to me is a fine art, collaborating with either people or inanimate objects to reach a common goal, and there is no right or wrong way to do it. For me, I saw the opportunity to bring my visions to life and tell stories through pictures. Offering a voice to those who can’t afford one and helping those who can’t find their own. I think that’s why I asked for a camera for Christmas almost three years ago.

Helping others is something I feel strongly about, but until I thought about it, I didn’t know how I could effectively act on those feelings. Because all art is subjective and personal you can completely tailor it to your specific needs. This creative freedom and realm of endless possibility gave me hope that I could find my own way to help those in need.

I can now bring light to things that I want to in a more powerful way than just writing a few words. I can emphasise my beliefs and bring attention to what I want to in my photos. Be that body positivity, self-love, inclusivity, racism, or just an under-appreciated location.

I am most passionate about helping people become more comfortable in their own bodies and fall in love with themselves. For me, the human body is the most beautiful canvas there is. Not just because of what we can see, but the power and frame of mind needed to show it. I find it very empowering to be able to capture moments where people can look back and love what they see.

Encouraging and almost inducing self-love, being there for the moment when people realise their love for themselves, is incredible. Creating an environment and moments where people realise how special they are leads to such creatively beautiful and powerful photographs.

I do not believe boudoir is unprofessional, and it does not make you a slut or anything other than yourself. If you like how you look. Amazing. If you’ve worked hard for your body, you’re damn right to show it off. People flex the money they make, so why shouldn’t you flex the work you’ve put in?

Creating more personal and intimate content should not lower the respect anyone has for you, in fact, I personally think it should increase it, because of how hard it is to create, let alone post. The human form is beautiful and should be respected professionally. If you can’t see art for what it is, then that’s your issue, don’t take it out on the creators.

With this as my guiding thought, my lifetime goal is to encourage and present as much self-love and positivity as I can. In the long term, I would love to be able to change people’s minds about the ‘norm’ and what is considered acceptable. However, for now, I’ll accept people just letting everyone express themselves in whatever way they wish to. This is my way of expressing myself and connecting with others.

So here I am, a 25-year-old male aiming to provide empowering photos and an unforgettable experience all with the purpose of helping you discover and embrace your most natural self. I’ve taken the leap and found my own path, now I shall continue down this avenue of art.
